What to Expect
How is This Different from Other Programs?
Many training programs provide the program but none of the coaching and support. These programs claim to be customized for their clients but the fact of the matter is it’s impossible to offer a “custom” program when the same program is used by 25+ clients. Moreover, many of these cookie-cutter programs include exercises that aren’t applicable and/or optimal for everyone.
The same is true for nutrition coaching. Many programs on the market will give you a generic nutrition plan based only on caloric intake. This does nothing in helping people make sustainable habits that lead to change. Whether it’s a training program, trying to find the best nutrition plan for your lifestyle or both, coaching is key. Having a coach to not only make sure your training program and/or nutrition program is safe but also giving feedback and making tweaks as needed is paramount to you actually achieving your goals.
My coaching programs are designed for you, based on your needs, ability, lifestyle and goals. I provide you with coaching and feedback that helps you achieve your goals efficiently while implementing habits that make these changes sustainable. I believe everyone needs a coach to reach their full potential and coaching is what I love to do!
How It Works
1
It all starts with a discovery call. This is where we talk or video chat and get to know each other. I ask you about your goals, training history, injury history, nutrition, hobbies, lifestyle, etc. and you can ask me questions too. This conversation is very important because it gives me an idea of what you are looking to accomplish, what your starting point is, and how you view this fitting into your lifestyle.
2
From there, I’m able to put together a customized training program and/or nutrition plan based on your needs, goals and lifestyle. We keep in constant communication so if any tweaks to the program are needed, I can make them. And of course, I want to make sure you are feeling good!
3
To ensure that you are performing exercises correctly, you will submit videos of your training and I will give you feedback. This is especially important because proper execution of an exercise is how you will see results while also ensuring the movement is safe. If you elect the small group option with live training, video submissions aren’t necessary.
4
In addition to training feedback, we will also have biweekly check-ins via phone or video chat to make sure things are progressing and to address any areas of concern. If you are receiving nutrition coaching, we will have weekly check-ins as well.
5
After four weeks, based on your progress, I send you an updated program that keeps you feeling great and working toward your goal.
If all you want is a program, I’m not a good fit for you. I put a lot of effort into designing custom training and nutrition programs. The success isn’t solely in the program but in the hard work of my clients and the coaching and tweaks made along the way.
What You Will Need
EQUIPMENT
The training programs can be done at home or at a gym. If you are working out from home, you won’t need a lot of equipment but some equipment is required. If you are a beginner, you may not need equipment for the first two to four weeks but as you get stronger, you will need some added resistance. Adjustable dumbbells or kettlebells along with some resistance bands are perfect. If you don’t have adjustable weights, a pair of light weights, a pair of medium weights and a pair of heavy weights, relative to your strength and ability level, are all you need.
“C-H-C”
For this to be successful, the client is a huge part of the process. I like to think of myself as the navigator and the client as the driver. I can write a custom program and give tailored nutrition recommendations, but I can’t do the work for you. That’s why my ideal client has what I like to call “C-H-C”.
Commitment - Consistency is the name of the game when it comes to changing anything regarding your training, nutrition or lifestyle. You may not always get it right, but being committed to the process and showing up every day ready to work is 90 percent of the battle.
Hard work - This may seem obvious but is often overlooked. The saying rings true: “If it doesn’t challenge you, it doesn’t change you.” Changes in the weight room, nutrition habits and your lifestyle won’t come easily, but I assure you the results and the empowerment you feel from accomplishing something challenging will be well worth it.
Coachability - The most successful clients I’ve worked with love to learn and strive to get better. Being open to hearing new ideas and applying that knowledge is a superpower that will yield you lasting results.
